Tax, Books & Planning · Vero Beach, Florida

Your tax return should not be the first time the year makes sense.

BDJ Financials connects tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, resolution, and year-round planning for individuals and business owners who want the same financial story from January’s books through April’s return.

Meet Brian

You know who is handling the file—and who will answer when something changes.

Brian Jorgensen, EA, in his approved color headshot

Brian Jorgensen, EA

  • MBA in Accounting and Finance, American InterContinental University (2007)
  • IRS Enrolled Agent since 2015
  • Founded BDJ Tax Services in 2015
  • A decade of tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and resolution work across Indian River and St. Lucie Counties
  • Opened BDJ Financials as a sister company when clients kept asking for planning and resolution
  • Open year-round, with direct client relationships

Proposed team line (confirm): “Brian leads every client relationship and reviews the work; a small team helps keep bookkeeping, payroll, and document requests moving.”

One financial story

The books, payroll, tax return, and plan should not tell four different stories.

  1. Monthly bookkeeping
  2. Payroll
  3. Business tax preparation
  4. Individual tax preparation
  5. Estimated payments
  6. Tax planning
  7. Tax resolution
  8. Year-round questions

When the person preparing the return already understands how the books were maintained, how payroll was handled, and what changed during the year, tax season becomes a review of organized information instead of a reconstruction project.

Start with the situation

Start with what is happening—not a list of forms.

I Need to File Correctly

Individual and business returns, prior-year filings, multistate considerations, and tax-ready books.

My Books Are Behind

Cleanup, catch-up bookkeeping, monthly reconciliation, understandable financial statements, and a stable monthly process.

I Received an IRS Notice

Representation, notice review, unfiled returns, payroll-tax issues, and resolution support.

I Want to Plan Before Filing

Estimated payments, business changes, entity considerations, owner compensation, cash-flow questions, and year-round tax planning.

I Need Books, Payroll, and Tax Connected

Recurring support for owners who want fewer gaps between providers.

The relationship progression

Solve today’s problem. Build a better financial rhythm from there.

File & Resolve

For individuals and businesses that need accurate returns, prior-year filings, IRS representation, or immediate compliance help.

Keep Current

For small businesses that need recurring bookkeeping, payroll, financial statements, and organized tax preparation.

Plan Ahead

For owners who need tax planning, estimated-payment guidance, cash-flow conversations, forecasting, and support before major decisions.

Strategic concepts · Pricing and final scope pending Brian’s review of delivery and margins.

Planning & Advisory

Advisory begins when the question is no longer “What form do I file?”

  • Can the business afford another employee?
  • Should the owner change compensation?
  • Why is revenue increasing while cash remains tight?
  • What will this year’s estimated tax liability look like?
  • Is the business ready to purchase equipment?
  • Are margins improving?
  • Should the business structure be reviewed?
  • What financial information will a lender request?
  • How should multiple businesses be viewed together?
  • What can still be changed before year-end?

Example client situations, not claims about existing engagements.

Two BDJ names

One relationship should not require clients to decode two companies.

BDJ Financials LLC and BDJ Tax Services LLC work together. A plain explanation belongs on the site—three structures are proposed for Brian’s decision:

Option A · Master Brand

BDJ Financials becomes the primary public brand, with BDJ Tax Services identified as the established tax-preparation entity where legally required.

Option B · Endorsed Relationship

“BDJ Financials, working alongside BDJ Tax Services,” with a plain explanation of what each business is responsible for.

Option C · Service Divisions

Tax preparation and financial planning presented as coordinated divisions within one client experience—subject to legal and operational confirmation.

Brand architecture requires Brian’s approval and legal confirmation.

How We Work

Direct access works best when the process around it is equally clear.

  1. 01Tell Brian What Changed — Begin with the tax problem, bookkeeping condition, business change, or planning question.
  2. 02Complete a Short Fit Review — Share the service needed, entity type, filing status, urgency, and current accounting situation.
  3. 03Schedule the Appropriate Conversation — Separate routine preparation, urgent resolution, recurring bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory needs.
  4. 04Confirm Scope and Pricing — Define responsibilities, timing, deliverables, communication, and fees before work begins.
  5. 05Receive Secure Information Requests — Move documents and sensitive information into an approved secure system.
  6. 06Complete Onboarding — Establish access, contacts, deadlines, prior-year records, QuickBooks connections, and open issues.
  7. 07Create the Ongoing Rhythm — Set monthly-close dates, payroll deadlines, tax-planning checkpoints, and review conversations.

Proposed process · Not a description of a current workflow.

Proposed Website Assistant

Proposed · Not implemented

Ask before you book.

I have several unfiled years. Where do I begin?

Start with a conversation. Unfiled years are one of the most common situations BDJ handles—penalties and interest keep running while returns sit unfiled. Brian would review which years are open and what notices you’ve received, then quote before any work begins.

Proposed Website Assistant · Would answer only from Brian-approved BDJ knowledge. It would not give individualized tax, accounting, legal, or investment advice. Sample answers are drawn from the current public site.

Why clients trust BDJ

Credibility from credentials and clarity—not counters.

  • Brian’s Enrolled Agent credential
  • Direct-access model
  • Verified professional history
  • Specific client situations
  • Approved testimonials
  • Connected services
  • Year-round availability
  • Clear process
  • Useful educational content
